Monitor Audio Bronze Series

Monitor Audio’s Bronze Series is a long-standing performer in the mid‑priced speaker segment. The sixth generation (6G) introduced notable enhancements including C‑CAM Gold Dome tweeters, Uniform Dispersion Waveguides, and refined cabinet styling—all aimed at achieving lifelike sound reproduction and even dispersion

Most recently, the seventh generation (7G) has been released, featuring upgraded materials—such as stronger plywood cabinets—enhanced C‑CAM drivers, redesigned crossovers, and even a new wall‑mounted model. These aim to boost control, clarity, and musical engagement

Build & Design Highlights

  • Cabinet construction: The 6G featured clean lines, contrast baffles, and magnetic grilles. In the 7G, the plywood front baffle adds a more rigid and sonically accurate structure

  • Tweeter & waveguide: The Uniform Dispersion Waveguide paired with the signature C‑CAM Gold Dome tweeter yields a wider sound dispersion and better time alignment

  • Connectivity & internals: Gold-plated binding posts and high-quality internal wiring up the ante on build quality in 6G designs

Sound Quality: Model-by-Model

Bronze 50 (7G)

  • Overview: Compact bookshelf that defies its size with impactful performance.

  • Strengths: Notable bass extension (down to ~40 Hz), punchy and enthusiastic presentation, tight treble clarity

  • Listening experience: “Music sounds big and colourful … exciting listen,” with behavior likened to a visual “enhance” filter turned on.

Bronze 100 (6G)

  • Tonal balance: Praised as neutral, detailed, and transparent. Instruments like mandolins and harpsichords shine with refined clarity, and bass is solid yet controlled.

  • Versus competition: Compared favorably to Wharfedale 12.1 with a “larger soundstage” offering more space and vibrancy

  •   Competitively priced against Martin Logan 15i, delivering a surprise performance given the price gap.

  • Soundstage & control: Soundstage is expansive and musical; bass is integrated cleanly, avoiding any boominess.

  • Audiophile endorsement: SoundStageHiFi noted its “floor‑stander‑like performance” from a stand‑mounted speaker, offering deep bass, neutrality, and elegance at around $675

Generational Improvements: What’s New in 7G?

  • Material upgrade: Plywood cabinets in 7G deliver greater rigidity and directional control compared to MDF

  • Tonal refinement: Sound is described as tighter and more confident, while preserving the series’ signature musicality and clarity.

  • New formats: The debut of a wall-mounted option expands placement flexibility, and the range remains matched to Monitor Audio’s W-series subwoofers for seamless scaling.

  • Voicing consistency: Across the range, the voicing stays cohesive, making for an easy-to-integrate multi-speaker system.

Final Thoughts

The Monitor Audio Bronze Series continues to deliver exceptional value and performance:

  • 6G Models (like the 50 and 100) offer a lively, detail-rich presentation with excellent build and a reputation for musical enjoyment.

  • 7G Series takes things further with better materials, tighter sound, and a broader range of form factors—including a wall-mounted speaker—while retaining the series’ hallmark clarity and engagement.

Whether you're after a vibrant bookshelf speaker or an immersive setup for music and home cinema, the Bronze Series remains a robust, well-rounded choice. Feel free to ask if you'd like help selecting models or pairing components!
