Precision Engineering for Optimal Performance
Every aspect of the V10 is meticulously designed to optimise the sound quality of your music. The chassis is divided into two compartments, isolating the power supplies from the delicate amplification circuitry to eliminate interference. Gold-plated terminals, balanced XLR outputs, and a custom grounding screw ensure the best possible connections. The input stage utilises ultra-low-noise discrete JFET transistors for both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) inputs, ensuring minimal external noise. The MC input features four parallel-connected transistors to achieve complete silence and eliminate bias current feedback to the cartridge coil.
Ultra-Low-Noise Amplification
The input signal passes through equally silent amplifier circuits, where ultra-low-noise power supplies built with discrete bipolar transistors maintain minimal signal noise. This results in extremely accurate amplification of the input signal from the turntable. The V10 is supplied with a linear, low-noise, analogue AC power supply featuring a large custom-designed E-core transformer housed separately to eliminate interference.
Customisation
The V10 is configured out of the box as an excellent plug-and-play MM preamplifier, but it's highly customisable to cater to individual preferences. When using an MM cartridge, capacitance can be adjusted between 100 and 467 pF, while impedance for MC cartridges can be set between 33 and 550 ohms or fixed at 47 kohms. Gain can be increased by 5, 10, or 12 dB to match the output of other sources. The V10 also features a Subsonic Filter to remove unwanted low-frequency noise and an adjustable auto standby function for added convenience.
