Upgrade Your McIntosh with DA2
Owners of certain McIntosh models can elevate their audio systems with the DA2 upgrade. Compatible models include the MA9000, MA8900, MA7200, MA5300 Integrated Amplifiers; MAC7200 Receiver; and C49 Preamplifier. The DA2 upgrade, replacing the DA1 module, is an optional enhancement that must be installed by an Authorized McIntosh Dealer or Service Agency, ensuring precision and maintaining the integrity of your McIntosh product.

The DA2 module builds on the DA1’s legacy, offering expanded capabilities and connections. Notably, it includes an HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) connection, facilitating a seamless link to ARC-compatible TVs. This feature revolutionizes TV sound, routing audio through your stereo system for an enriched auditory experience. The ARC connection also supports two-way communication for synchronized audio and video, as well as compatibility with popular Dolby® and DTS® multi-channel formats, expertly converted to 2-channel audio.
Superior DAC for High-Resolution Audio
The DA2’s USB input surpasses the DA1 with support for native playback of up to DSD512, thanks to its advanced Quad Balanced, 8-channel, 32-bit DAC. This cutting-edge DAC offers a dynamic range and total harmonic distortion improvement, delivering an exquisite audio quality. Additionally, the USB input supports DXD up to 384kHz, while coaxial and optical inputs decode up to 24-bit/192kHz for high-resolution audio playback.
