Whatever genre of music you care to play the H390 (as all Hegel amplifiers) will present it in a beautifully open way, the soundstage will be open and expansive and the grip/control on the speaker will be apparent from the first few bars. Sound performance has always been the driving force behind all Hegel products and the H390 is no different.
It is somewhat of a giant killer delivering a performance that far belies it's price, not that we are suggesting it is cheap but is it good value MOST CERTAINLY!

Now the sound quality is never a given just because an amplifier is powerful, but Hegel marries together excellent sonic performance with current delivery and power.

This is the perfect combination, the amplifier never runs out of power to cope with even the largest swings in dynamic range whilst maintaining it's famous open 3D presentation. As with all Hegel amplifiers, this sound quality is born out of the implementation of the SoundEngine system that is a feed-forward distortion eliminating circuit. This ensures that you get the cleanest most natural delivery of your music.

Connections? The H390 has them in spades with provision for analogue XLR and RCA connection and no fewer than 6 digital connections and a Network connection for streaming!

The H390 will stream using Airplay, Spotify Connect or via a 3rd party app (such a Mconnect) you can access your locally stored music  and stream from Tidal or Qobuz

What stands the Hegel H390 from its stablemates is the step-up in the DAC (Digital-Analogue-Convertor) this is the first in the range that will decode DSD and MQA.
Its all well and good when you have this high-resolution audio file but what if you're using MP3, we the very clever implementation of the DAC means that the lower quality files are treated with care and take on a far more natural almost analogue sound, something that very few DAC's are capable of delivering.

It is also the first in the Hegel range to be software upgradable, so as new features become available you will not be left behind!
