The Audio Technica AT-OC9XEB dual moving coil (MC) phono cartridge offers an accessible entry point to experience the exceptional channel separation benefits of this cartridge. In this version, the boron cantilever found in higher-end models is replaced with an aluminium pipe design, paired with a nude square shank elliptical bonded stylus.
Performance
Constructed from rigid aluminium, the cartridge body minimises resonance, while a neodymium magnet combined with a permedur yoke significantly enhances magnetic energy. The nude elliptical stylus meticulously tracks the record groove with superior precision, delivering rich, full-range audio and greater transient response.
PCOCC Coil
The AT-OC9XEB utilises pure copper Ohno continuous casting (PCOCC) coils for exceptional audio performance. These coils are arranged in a reverse V-shape to reduce pressure exerted on the elliptical bonded stylus, thus preventing distortion. The pre-threaded cartridge body allows for easy attachment to a headshell or integral tonearm using only two screws, without the need for additional nuts.
Please Note: Moving coil cartridges require receivers or preamps with compatible inputs; their stylus assemblies are not field-replaceable.
