The AT33SA marks Audio-Technica's introduction of the Shibata stylus to its MC cartridge lineup, delivering exceptional performance across the frequency spectrum.
Shibata Stylus
As the first Audio-Technica MC cartridge to feature a Shibata stylus, the AT33SA offers superior high-range performance typical of a line-contact stylus, along with strong and rich mid and bass sound reproduction. Mounted on a boron cantilever with a double damper, the Shibata stylus greatly enhances sound quality.
Advanced Design
The AT33SA utilises a tapered boron cantilever, reducing weight and improving high-range performance and wide-range reproduction. By tapering the cantilever and adjusting the number of coil rotations, the cartridge achieves enhanced performance across the frequency spectrum.
Magnetic Properties
Featuring a neodymium magnet with maximum energy product BHmax of 50 [kJ/m3] and a permendur yoke with high saturation flux density, the AT33SA creates a concentrated magnetic field in the coil gap. This setup dramatically enhances magnetic energy and ensures outstanding magnetic properties for superior performance.

The neodymium magnet delivers maximum energy (BHmax of 50[kJ/m3]), while the pure iron yoke contributes excellent magnetic properties, further enhancing the overall performance of the cartridge.
