Lyngdorf CD-2 CD Player
The Lyngdorf CD-2 CD Player emerges as an exemplar in the world of pure audio CD players, drawing upon the extensive experience and multiple awards of Lyngdorf Audio in digital amplifiers and CD players. This player is distinguished for its exceptional sound quality, tailored specifically for audio-only use.
Audio-Focused Engineering: In the design of the CD-2, simplicity and performance converge. Unlike multi-format drives that are primarily based on video designs, the CD-2 utilises a pure audio drive. This approach not only simplifies the mechanism but also enhances audio quality, as it avoids the uncontrolled re-sampling associated with video-based clocks. The CD-2 is a testament to the philosophy that ground potentials and engine control board noise are best managed through dedicated audio design.
Sophisticated Electrical Design: The switch-mode power supply, meticulously engineered by Lyngdorf Audio, exhibits exceptional regulation. It is thoroughly filtered and decoupled, ensuring a low-noise, low-impedance supply to both digital and analogue circuitries. Separate power supplies from four independent secondary windings on the transformer keep analogue and digital realms distinct, minimising digital noise in the analogue circuits. Optimal grounding and a fully connected electric chassis further enhance the noise-free design.
Commitment to Noise-Free Operation: Lyngdorf Audio prioritises the creation of products that do not radiate noise. This commitment not only benefits the CD-2 by making it resistant to external noise and interference but also reflects the attention to detail in its design process, ensuring a pristine audio environment.
Exceptional D/A Conversion: The heart of the CD-2's sound output is its D/A converter, driving both high-quality single-ended and balanced output stages. Centered around the Wolfson WM8740 chip and paired with Lyngdorf's balanced design and top-tier audiophile op-amps, this D/A converter section delivers audio of extraordinary fidelity and nuance.
